The script, written by Sasha Gervasi based on his own story, centers on a "one-night stand" in Los Angeles between journalist Danny Tate (Dornan) and actor Herve Villechaise (Dinklage), which "became fateful for both." Tate then took an extensive and frank interview with Herve – just on the eve of the latter's death.

"Hervé was not just a pop culture icon, he was one of the most charming and educated people I have ever met," comments Gervasi. "His story is the story of a gifted loser trying to find his place in the world."

Gervasi (screenwriter of "Terminal" with Tom Hanks, "Hitchcock" with Anthony Hopkins, "Crime from Henry" with Reeves) will direct the picture.

Against the backdrop of problems with alcohol and chronic depression, he committed suicide in 1993.
